Well Said Wednesday: "Gang aft a-gley” is so 2020
I'm thinking that Scottish poet Robert Burns would have been a great friend to us in 2020. After all, he's the one who said,
“The best laid schemes o' mice an' men / gang aft a-gley.”
More commonly known as
“The best laid plans of mice and men / often go awry."
Raise your hand if any of your plans went awry in 2020.
(Yes, I am raising my hand!)
In fact, so much of 2020 was about unplanning. I have the canceled plane tickets and erased calendar events to prove it.
I even paused my quarterly Build Your Content Plan workshops, even though they were already virtual.
It just wasn't advisable to help stressed-out business owners map out 3-, 6- or even a year's worth of content that had a good chance of hitting the wrong notes at the wrong time.
But here's the thing:
Our people still need to hear from us.
We still need our content to add value, not noise.
So I created a re-imagined and 2020-ized the Build Your Content Plan Workshop to include updated tools and new ways of thinking about what outreach means *now.*
It's happening December 16*.
This two-hour block of time is all about:
Elevating your outreach with a doable, focused content plan
Connecting with your audiences in a more sustainable, authentic way
Learning a better way to approach content and get a stash of tools to help you out
Never going dark on your audiences and leave them wondering if you’re still in business
Abandoning time-wasting, random content for good

"Gang aft a-gley” is so 2020. Let's get our 2021 outreach off to a re-calibrated, re-set and re-engaged start.
